Hello Glampers!
So we just wanted to give a quick update on the site for 2022 (it’s been a while!) and let you know about a few changes we have ongoing and an update on availability for this year!
We are keeping to 6 bell tents for 2022 and we will be exclusively operating as a glamping site as we did in 2021. This runs between April 1st to October 4th. Outside of this we welcome caravans in the off season.
We have recently launched a brand-new website and booking system this year which so far we have had some really good feedback on. You can check it out at www.dukeriesretreat.co.uk and please let us know if there is anything you need help with!
Availability
Thank you to those who have already booked with us for 2022! If you were looking to book with us this year, the weekend availability is now 51% booked. We do have availability in each month, but it is extremely limited in May (87% booked) and July (83% booked).
We do open for the Easter school holidays and still have some great availability for those 2 weeks. The bell tents are really well lit and heated (as is the hot tub!) so check out some dates if you wanted to get something in the diary.
This year we have opened the weekend bookings to 2-night stays, but we do offer a 25% discount if you book for 3 nights. We only actually take 1 booking per weekend so 2-night stays were previously not something we thought we would offer, but taking feedback on board, that is now an option!
New Names
We have got all creative and named the tents this year, based around some great local landmarks. If you decide to book and you want a specific bell tent based upon your last stay, the bell tents are as follows (1 being the closest to the communal areas).

5 Rufford
6 Thoresby

Site Updates
All of the tents from 2021 now have a new home with a local scout group, and we have brought brand new tents for 2022.
As with last year, all tents will have a king or super-king sized bed. This year each tent will also have a double bed settee which are super comfy and ideal for a second couple to sleep in. As our tents are 6 metre in diameter, they have a huge 289 square feet in floor space!
There will still be the option of 2 singles in each one should that be preferred and the tents can now sleep up to 6 but we cap it at 4 adults.
We want our guests to be able to relax for the full stay with us, so this year we have installed storage units behind all tents which come stocked with everything you will need for the weekend. This means you will not need to request extra logs, charcoals, firelighters (etc) during your stay and you will not have to curtail any nights if the hot tub needs more wood!
The first night’s supplies are on us (Firestarter kit, etc) and there is a price list for anything else you need in the storage box which will be settled when you leave!
We will be installing a hammock for each tent prior to our reopening for some chill time with a good book! We now also have an outside light on each garden bar, so no more torches needed outside the tents!
We have also got a much better system for security deposits this year with the new booking system, meaning that rather than doing a bank transfer we can just put a hold on a credit card and this amount never leaves your bank. This is then removed providing no damage is done once you leave!
Local Discounts
Last year we sent out some information about discounts available at local businesses with the welcome packs, but we are aware that some of our guests did not always receive their discounts (mainly due to poor organisation on our part!).
This year upon arrival you will get a discount card used at specific pubs/restaurants locally which ranges from 10-20% off.
You will get a stamp each time you use it and each stamp will count as a ticket to an annual Dukeries Retreat prize draw that we will be doing at the end of the season!
Group Availability
Our season runs for 26 weeks and as it stands we have 6 weekends where we currently have all 6 bell tents available. 1 of these is for 2 night (max) stay which is June 4-6 (Saturday-Monday)
We have held back the weekend of August 12-15 as it stands for a group booking as we know there were a couple of groups still looking to rebook for this year. This is currently unavailable on the website, so drop us a message if you want to put a deposit down for it!
We also have the following weekends available for exclusive group bookings which can be booked on the website:

June 4-6 (2 Nights)
June 17-20
September 9-12
September 30 – October 3
All bookings this year have a reduced deposit of 30% (down from 50%) and the remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your stay.
Reviews
Finally thank you all so much for the wonderful reviews that you left us last year. Our rankings have led to being contacted by 4 in a bed (we said no – for now!) and we have had some really positive press coverage, the latest of which we will be telling you about across the social media platforms in the near future!
